OMV and its partners have surrendered two major offshore permits, almost halving the country’s remaining exploration acreage in the process.The firm, operator of the Maui and Pohokura gas fields, is surrendering rights to 9,800 square-kilometres of ocean off the Wairarapa coast that it has held since late 2014.
