Briscoe expects 1st-half net profit of at least $46m

Briscoe Group said its first-half net profit will be at least $46 million at the same time as reporting a 22.6% jump in first-half sales.The homewares and sporting goods retailer's net profit for the previous first half was $28m, although that period, Jan 27 to July 26, 2020, was impacted by the national lockdown which closed the company's stores for 50 days. It compared with the $28.3m net result for the first half in 2019.Sales for the 26 weeks ended Aug 1 this year rose to $358.4m, with the Briscoes homewares chain's sales up 20....
