New commercial vehicle registrations were down 39% last month at 2,762 on the impact of clean car taxes on heavier emitters, but the new car and sports utility vehicle sales were up 5.6%.Motor Industry Association (MIA) chief executive David Crawford said overall there were 13,337 new registrations, which while down 8.4% from last May, was a strong number given current production constraints and weaker market conditions. And he expects higher fuel prices, cost of living increases and escalating interest rates to see new car sales to "...
