Food prices dip in November on cheaper fruit and veggies

Cheaper fruit and vegetables helped bring food prices down 0.7 percent in the month of November, although prices were still 2.4 percent higher from a year earlier. Stats NZ said falling vegetable prices weighed on the November result, with fruit and vegetable prices down 3 percent on the month, led by a 51 percent drop in tomato prices and a 23 percent drop in cucumber prices.
