Annual inflation hovered just below the mid-point of the central bank’s target band, with Wellington feeling the squeeze in the highest increase in rents nationally in 11 years.The consumers price index increased 0.5 percent in the December quarter bringing the annual rate of inflation to 1.9 percent, versus 1.5 percent September, Stats NZ said.Economists had tipped consumer prices to lift 0.4 percent in the three-month period, for an annual increase of 1.8 percent, according to the median estimate from a poll by Bloomberg.The Reserve Bank of N...
