Waka Kotahi NZ Transport has spent $270 million on transport planning for Auckland over the past five years.Of that, $40.1m has gone into the Labour government’s stalled light rail plan, surpassing both the $28.6m committed to the Let’s Get Wellington Moving (LGWM) programme and the $2.7m spent on Christchurch’s transport futures programme over the same period. Information provided by Waka Kotahi to BusinessDesk under the Official Information Act said this includes staff costs, consultations and business case development....
