Failed mānuka honey business owes $3.25m

Mānuka Te Miere has been placed into liquidation with $3.25 million owing to the Inland Revenue Department.This business is the second honey company associated with Denis Watson to be liquidated with owing money to the IRD in the last 24 months.Watson also sold half of one other mānuka honey business – Watson & Son – to Ngāi Tahu in 2016.Watson then pulled out of the business the following year and the iwi is trying to turn the company around after losses.Incorporated in 2013, Mānuka Te Miere failed to recognise tax obligations...
