A bill repealing the offshore oil and gas exploration ban has been introduced under parliamentary urgency and will be sent to a select committee for consideration.In 2018, the Labour-led Government banned new oil and gas exploration permits outside parts of onshore Taranaki, citing the need to move away from fossil fuels to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.This was with the reluctant support of New Zealand First, and on Tuesday, Resources Minister and NZ First MP Shane Jones introduced the Crown Minerals Amendment Bill.The law will repeal the ba...
