Electricity bills are confusing, complex, and consumers rarely know what plan they are on, let alone whether a better one is available, the Electricity Authority says.The sector regulator is consulting on proposed billing changes, and chief executive Sarah Gillies said: “We want every New Zealander to know if they’re on the best plan for them, and be able to easily compare their plan and switch power companies.”In addition to making bills clearer, retailers would also be required to check in with their customers every six mont...
