The national lockdown to combat the covid-19 virus will go for its full four weeks, despite emerging signs it is working. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern made clear at her daily press briefing that the lockdown plan depended on being a minimum of four weeks because of the disease's life cycle and the way infection would most likely be passed between people.
