Restaurant Brands sales still finger lickin’ good

Restaurant Brands first quarter sales jumped by 29.8% as the KFC franchisor not only enjoyed strong growth from a year earlier, but also bedded in revenue from its Californian beachhead.Sales rose to $259.7 million in the three months ended March 31 from $200.1m a year earlier, including a $37.2m kicker from the 69 Californian KFC stores bought last year.Local sales – which have been dominated by its successful KFC stores – climbed 17.6% to $115.2m from its 136 stores, although the prior period included seven days of last year&rsquo...
