New boss for merged Auckland Council agency

Nick Hill, the current chief executive of Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development, will head the city’s new combined economic and cultural agency.The council decided in August to merge ATEED and Regional Facilities Auckland, one of 64 recommendations made by an independent review of its council-controlled organisations. The CCO review said the merger could save up to $67 million over the next 10 years.The new entity will oversee Auckland’s events, stadiums and cultural assets, and economic development.
