Low turnout as co-chair re-elected to Silver Ferns board

Rob Hewett, co-chair of Silver Fern Farms has been re-elected to the cooperative’s board on a low turnout of its farmer shareholders.Gabrielle Thompson, who was a board appointed director, was also elected by shareholders.The unsuccessful candidates were William Oliver, Simon Davies, Rob Kempthorne and Charles Douglas-Clifford. The total weighted vote represented 50.59% of total shares, compared to the 62.68% turnout in the previous election in February 2018.
