NZ dollar falls as coronavirus impact on global economy sinks in

The New Zealand dollar fell further as the coronavirus's dramatic impact on China's economy ripples out to the rest of the world. The kiwi was trading at 63.95 US cents at 5pm in Wellington from 64.12 cents at the same time yesterday. The trade-weighted index was at 71.18 points from 71.37. The kiwi's decline steepened yesterday after tech company Apple warned that both its production and sales are being disrupted by the virus and that it won't meet this quarter's revenue forecast.
