Fishing company Sanford can expand its mussel operation at low or no cost. On Wednesday afternoon at the listed company’s annual general meeting (AGM), managing director David Mair said Sanford had undeveloped or unused water space and mussel-processing capacity available from Whakatohea in Ōpōtiki. He said Sanford had scalable capacity in its mussel business, which could be low-cost and fast to pay back, and that operational cash flows could fund growth in the mussel business. Mair, drawing on his love of Japanes...
