The government is cutting taxes on petrol by 25 cents a litre from tonight for three months as it comes under pressure over rising costs.There will be a similar cut in road user charges and public transport fares will also be halved for three months.Finance minister Grant Robertson said the government would top up the New Zealand Land Transport Fund by an estimated $350 million to cover lost revenue.The public transport move would cost between $25m and $40m.Energy minister Megan Woods said she had sought and received assurances from petrol comp...
