Box office blockbusters haven’t lost their lustre in the streaming video age with New Zealand cinema recording its second-biggest year ever in 2019.The local box office booked $204 million in 2019, narrowly missing 2016’s record of $207 million, according to the Motion Pictures Distributors' Association.Sales got a boost in the final six months of the year from the release of well-loved films, including the live action-remake of Disney classic The Lion King, which alone earned $13 million, as well as: Frozen 2, the sequel to the highest-grossin...
