Former Telecom in-house counsel Tristan Gilbertson has been appointed the new Telecommunications Commissioner. His five-year term starts on June 8 and he replaces Stephen Gale, who oversaw the regulated sector for the past eight years. Gilberston was general counsel at Telecom, now known as Spark, when the regulated Chorus unit was carved out of the country’s biggest telecommunications company.
