Ranjna Patel is the co-founder of Tamaki Health and founder of the Gandhi Nivas family violence prevention programme in New Zealand. She was named a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the King's Birthday Honours 2025 for her work in community health. She also became an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2017 and received a Queen’s Service Medal in 2009.
