Euro fear German stocks fell 2% overnight as the drums of war beat louder near its borders. Investors shifted towards ‘safe haven’ assets such as German bunds as stocks across Europe fell about 1.8%. Oil prices rose as high as US$97/bbl on concerns a Russian invasion of Ukraine, which some predict as early as Thursday morning NZ Time, would disrupt Russian oil and gas exports and the financial arrangements around those trades.
