The Maritime Union of New Zealand (MUNZ) wants a national enquiry into port safety following today's death of a worker at Ports of Auckland (POAL), capping off several incidents in recent years.The worker, employed by private stevedoring firm Wallace Investments, died Tuesday morning after a fall on the Singaporean flagged container ship, Capitaine Tasman. MUNZ national secretary, Craig Harrison, said the death was a tragedy that will be "devastating for family and workmates", but reinforced the dangers faced by port workers...
