A plea for special financial assistance for travel agents has been rejected by MPs.A petition to Parliament called for the wage subsidy to be extended for the travel sector as it had been hit hard by covid-19 and the related border closures, with the impact particularly felt by women employees.The finance and expenditure select committee said members of parliament sympathised with the “challenges and stresses” faced by travel agents.
