Rakon has been awarded a $17 million contract to supply space subsystems for a new low Earth orbit satellite constellation.

The contract, Rakon's largest in the space sector, was secured from a global leader in communications satellites.

It is worth up to $17m over three years and includes the potential for a significant extension.

In the financial year 2025, the contract is expected to generate over $3m of revenue for the company.

By winning this deal, Rakon has become a top global supplier of space subsystem products.

The company's master reference oscillator subsystems will provide accurate frequency references and precision timing for the satellite constellation.

Rakon's chief executive, Sinan Altug, expressed pride in the contract win and highlighted it as a result of the company's strategic focus on the LEO constellation and commercial satellite systems market.
