MWE Appoints UK Distributor

Award-winning New Zealand wine company, Marlborough Wine Estates Group Limited (NZX: MWE), has appointed the well-established Hayward Bros (wines) Limited as the UK distributor for its OTU Estate brand.

Premium wine distributor Hayward Bros (wines) Limited, established in 1932, is a fourth generation family-owned business, with a depth and breadth of expertise that has grown with each generation. Now four generations on, Robert Hayward leads an experienced London team not only sourcing Bordeaux and representing traditional domaines and prestige estates from around Europe, but also has proven success in brand building in the UK and distributing quality innovative wine brands from across the world.

Hayward Bros will initially focus on the OTU Estate range Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, with the first container shipped and expected to be available through a variety of channels, including specialist retail and restaurants by early November.

“OTU Estate have a unique wild coast New Zealand story that we know will resonate with the UK consumer. They will also fit well with our philosophy of premium quality, innovative producers that make wines of character, drinkability and interest. We see them fitting in perfectly alongside our other producers who share this philosophy” said Robert Hayward, Managing Director of Hayward Bros.

MWE’s Chief Executive Catherine Ma says “the appointment of Haywood Bros follows a review by Management of suitable distribution partners for international markets and we are delighted to be working with a strong, experienced and capable distribution team in the UK market.”
