Bapcor grapples with Australian bushfires, NZ covid lockdown

Autoparts retailer Bapcor reported a “rollercoaster” year headlined by Australian bushfire, drought and the significant impacts of the covid-19 response on its New Zealand businesses. Chief executive Darryl Abotomey said while the impacts of the covid crisis on the autoparts business had not been as severe as expected through its major Australian businesses, the NZ 'go hard' shutdown had seen sales across its biggest NZ stores, BNT, cut by a third from March to May.
