It won't come as news to anybody that directors hate the continuous disclosure rules.As predictably as the sun rising every morning, the New Zealand Institute of Directors wants this country to follow Australia's lead in reducing the effectiveness of those rules.The Australian government started the rot last year as the covid-19 pandemic took hold and caved to directors clamouring for a loosening of the rules.Nearly a year later, Scott Morrison's government has decided to make the change permanent.It might look like splitting hairs:...
