Auckland’s mayor and deputy mayor have confirmed Auckland Council did not participate in the country’s largest corporate capital raise outside of an initial public offering. In a statement released by Auckland Council on Tuesday afternoon, the council said Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown and Deputy Mayor Desley Simpson “carefully considered the opportunity” to take part in Auckland International Airport’s (AIA) $1.4 billion equity raise. “The council has decided not to participate.”Brown and Simpso...
