Uber offers drivers leasing and finance sweeteners for EV switch

Uber New Zealand has announced agreements with Mevo and car importer and retailer GVI to provide leasing and finance options for drivers wanting to switch to battery EVs.The ride-hailing platform said the deals were in response to driver concerns over the costs of EV ownership and finance. Uber aims to eliminate all vehicle emissions across its platform worldwide by 2040.Under the Mevo partnership, established drivers can lease a BYD Atto 3 for $230 a week without bond or deposit and with a 1,600km monthly mileage allowance.
