The Christchurch City Council (CCC) has discounted developers $14 million to encourage new housing in the central city.The central city residential rebate scheme was launched in 2014 to encourage post-earthquake development. Under the scheme, developers building residential units in the inner city have had 100% of their development contributions waived.Figures released to BusinessDesk show the council provided $14.6m in rebates on 1,304 units between 2014/15 and 2020/21.
