No penalties for late tax payments

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) says it won’t penalise late tax payments due to the national lockdown, giving some relief to taxpayers facing bills due at the end of the week.The IRD still wants people to file tax returns to keep information flowing, but said for people to get in touch with the department when they can so it can write off any penalties and interest that may accrue.“We know many people are having difficulty getting hold of us at the moment about general tax issues, such as GST,” a spokesperson said in a sta...
