Wellington region at alert level 2 until midnight Sunday

The Wellington region, including the Wairarapa and the Kapiti Coast to north of Otaki, will be under covid-19 alert level 2 restrictions from 6pm after a Sydney man visited the capital at the weekend and was later found to have contracted the virus.Wellington will remain at level 2 until at least 11:59pm on Sunday "out of an abundance of caution", covid response minister Chris Hipkins told journalists.That means a ban on gatherings of more than 100 people, social distancing, masks or face coverings remain mandatory on public...
