Annual inflation was lower than expected in the third quarter and may temper expectations for another rate hike from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. The consumers price index (CPI) was up 1.8%  in the September quarter, for an annual rate of 5.6%.That was below most market expectations and below what the central bank had forecast. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand had forecast annual inflation would reach 6% in the third quarter. “Prices are still increasing, but are increasing at rates lower than we have seen in the pr...
