Goods-producing firms were hit with skinnier margins in the September quarter as the prices they paid rose even as the prices they received fell, with food manufacturers the hardest hit.Stats NZ’s producers price index showed input prices – what they pay – for all industries rose 0.6 percent in the quarter, while output prices – what they receive – fell 0.3 percent.
