The change of National Party leadership has claimed its first scalp with former deputy party leader Paula Bennett announcing she will not stand for re-election on Sept. 19. Replaced by Nikki Kaye as deputy when Todd Muller wrested the party leadership from Simon Bridges on May 22, she was also swiftly replaced by Gerry Brownlee as the chair of the party's election campaign committee.
