Methanex’s latest global accounts show the New Zealand operation has been selling gas to the electricity sector for some months and is preparing to sell more if required.The accounts follow the company recording a $197 million impairment due to the decline of production in NZ because of dwindling gas.The Canadian-based company’s results for the three months ending March said Methanex NZ produced 160,000 tonnes of methanol in the first quarter of the company’s reporting cycle.The Taranaki operation has one plant left that is st...
