Some large electricity users are facing even more pain with wholesale electricity prices hitting a record average high last week, Transpower said today.The continuing high wholesale prices come as the sector grapples with a shortage of gas and low hydro lakes.Transpower, the state owned national grid operator which holds responsibility for security of supply, said the wholesale electricity average price rose to $367 per megawatt-hour at Haywards, a 49% increase on the previous week.
