The Climate Change Commission’s final report to the government on meeting New Zealand’s climate change emissions targets has found emissions are higher than previously thought, making the job of reaching those targets more difficult.However, it remains confident the country can reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050 using existing technologies, behavioural change, forest planting with a bias towards permanent native forests, and buying carbon credits on the international market.It proposes a slightly higher carbon reduction target...
