AA Insurance drives Suncorp's premium growth

Suncorp’s New Zealand division – which operates the Vero Insurance, AA Insurance and AA Life joint ventures, and Asteron Life brands – lifted first-half profit by almost a fifth to a record $129 million, with AA car insurance driving general insurance premium growth.The firm’s NZ general insurance arm lifted profit 6.4 percent to $100 million for the six months to Dec. 31, with gross written premium up 5.4 percent at $923 million.
