New Zealand should seriously look at introducing a capital gains tax as a means to nix the house-price affordability crisis, says a senior executive at the country’s biggest mortgage lender.The comment by Richard Yetsenga, the Sydney-based group chief economist and head of research for ANZ, came as he spoke about runaway house prices in Australia and New Zealand.“I know you [in New Zealand] don’t have a capital gains tax.
