All too often, businesses fail to look after their very reason for existing, their customers.And it's a cause of wonderment that so many New Zealand businesses have proven themselves poor guardians of their customers' privacy.It only seems to take a demand from somebody in authority, be it the police, regulators or the official assignee, for most companies to hand over customer data without even the courtesy of informing the customers involved.And without even bothering to check whether the authority figure was even entitled to the info...
