Infrastructure plans facing 'significant cost escalation'

The infrastructure projects the government would like to undertake are facing "significant cost escalations," finance minister Grant Robertson told journalists.The government has completed a baseline exercise and "there are a number of things we could do", but no decisions have been made yet.The government's options include dropping parts of projects, phasing them in over a longer time frame or re-scope them, Robertson said in Wellington after a pre-budget speech to the local chamber of commerce.In July last year, ahead...
