Channel Infrastructure has unveiled its plans to develop a wide-ranging energy precinct at its Marsden Point site in Northland and said the point where New Zealand will reach peak petrol use has been pushed back.In 2023, Channel released commissioned forecasts that showed petrol imports could peak around 2025 depending on various factors, with diesel use remaining firm for some time and aviation fuel increasing.The latest forecast from consultants Envisory now pushes back peak petrol to early in the 2030s, with a slower transition anticipated.T...
