Worker suicides in construction cost the industry $1.3 billion in 2023, according to a new survey from industry charity MATES in Construction, which found the sector was one of the highest-risk industries.The survey, released this week, found that almost one in five workers reported suicidal thoughts between March and June 2025.More than 3,300 people responded to the survey, with two-thirds saying they were worried about at least one major stressor, which included exhaustion, financial strain or high workload.No supportMATES in Construction chi...
