The government appears to be breaking up the controversial Let’s Get Wellington Moving (LGWM) programme with a proposal that it take over responsibility for projects on state highways.Prime minister Chris Hipkins and transport minister David Parker have previously criticised the lack of progress on LGWM, which is a partnership between central and local government, where the Wellington city and regional councils were meant to provide 40% of the overall costs.The package was most recently costed at more than $7 billion.On Thursday, Hipkins...
