Global shipping giant Maersk will open its own 4.5-hectare (ha) cold chain facility at Ruakura Inland Port next year.Henrick Jensen, managing director of Maersk Oceania, said the company had signed a long term lease on the site, outside of Hamilton in Waikato.It will include the construction of a 16,000 square metre coldstore facility and provide the world's second-largest shipper with a link to the ports of Tauranga and Auckland, servicing the shipping lines’ key dairy, meat and primary sector exports.The Denmark-based shipper h...
