Northport presses 'pause', removes empties

Northport says it will pause operations this week to help it catch up with a national backlog of containers.The Marsden Point port, which has recently picked up more container trade in the wake of ongoing import congestion at Ports of Auckland, started loading almost 1,000 containers onto the Liberian registered Northern Guild container vessel this past weekend.In a note to its customers on Friday, the port said with all available machines and personnel focused on this ship and other essential port operations, it will be closed for the dispatch...
