The largest producer of recycled paper products in New Zealand has confirmed it will close its Penrose mill, in part due to rising energy costs.Oji Fibre Solutions launched a consultation on its closure proposal in August when wholesale gas and electricity prices spiked due to gas shortages and low hydro lake levels. This prompted a spate of commentary about the dire impact high energy costs were having on NZ manufacturing and export competitiveness.On Wednesday, the company told the 75 affected staff it had decided to close the mill....
