OMV says Taranaki well unsuccessful

OMV says the well it drilled off the Taranaki coast last month doesn’t look to have delivered a commercial discovery.Gladstone-1 was drilled about 50 kilometres north-west of New Plymouth in the firm’s Cloudy Bay exploration permit – PEP 57075.The rig, the COSL Prospector, has since relocated to the Great South Basin to drill the Tawhaki-1 well off the Otago coast.“At this stage it is looking like there has not been a commercial-scale find from the Gladstone-1 exploration well,” OMV said in an emailed statement. “However, we are still in the pr...
