Ports of Auckland has shelved its much delayed and heavily over budget automation project at the Fergusson container terminal.Announcing the decision on Wednesday, chair Jan Dawson said the decision was taken after "careful consideration of the status of the project, advice from independent experts and the work required to achieve full terminal automation".The automation programme has been dogged by issues and cost overruns since it was rolled out in 2016 under previous chief executive Tony Gibson.The port's robotic terminal was p...
