Ports of Auckland (POAL) has blamed covid and global logistics snarl-ups for ongoing delays to its automation project but won’t say when it will eventually flick the switch.In a statement today, chief executive Tony Gibson said while preparations were underway for a full terminal rollout, the actual timeline was dependent on the completion of a safety assurance review of the automated system, as well as ensuring adequate training was in place.In March, Gibson signalled a “go live” date for June, after completing the necessary...
